Through our journey in life we go through a transition by way of personal and professional growth. Growth always needs careful nurturing and catalysts. Nurturing is progressively done by the people around the individual and the experiences become learning for the individual.
The catalyst however is a collection of memories, knowledge and experiences picked up on the way, during the journey. TCE plays the role of both the nurturer and the catalyst. TCE plays the role of the Guru. As Swami Vivekananda said, "He alone teaches who has something to give, for teaching is not talking, teaching is not imparting doctrines, it is communicating", TCE ensures that there is a constant conversation between the nurturer and the learner. Learning in TCE is an intense connection with the Gurus at TCE who always take time off from their busy schedules to invest their knowledge in us. Being exposed to this broad and complex organization and the interdependence of associated disciplines, I have realized the importance of being a part of a team – one that needs to keep advancing and contributing to this ever growing company.
TCE is a happening place today! We are re-engineering our systems and structures and digitizing almost everything that we do.
We have embraced 3D Engineering across our business units and are now onto 4D platforms - which adds a whole new dimension through integration of 3D engineered model to the project schedule resulting in construction simulation. Our virtually connected environment which gives us instant access to other locations as well as agility of our people moving across various project sites or delivery centres, are some aspects of our work culture that I am proud of today. From my hand-held device I was able to connect from an office in Saudi Arabia to my delivery centre in Delhi to wish my teams a Happy Diwali last year! What impresses me most is our ability to change… We carry with us our heritage and tradition of engineering excellence over last 53 years and with the annual influx of young minds from campuses and our continuous investments in IT systems & advanced simulation tools, today we are diverse, tech savvy and a good blend of energy and excellence. We constantly endeavour to learn, unlearn and relearn to retain our engineering literacy… The passion to achieve and the confidence that we will reach our goals is a constant motivation for me at Tata Consulting Engineers.
"TCE's orientation program provided us a unique platform to identify and develop individual skills through hands-on experience in diverse fields of engineering. The programme (YEDP) has exposed us to the various challenges that designers, planners and managers face in the real world scenario. The five months of intensive training that encompasses discipline-level training, site training, project management and 3-D training have been meticulously designed to ensure that we can groom ourselves to adapt to the fast changing technical world and be the best in what we do. The tools that have been introduced to us will help us kick start our career. The training experience has been a perfect transition from campus to corporate so far. It was fun and exciting and we are raring to go!"
I have been extremely lucky to be part of projects that were executed for the first time in India.
I can sum up my work at TCE in one sentence. It's a wonderful experience of handling challenging opportunities.
Seems like yesterday when I joined TCE as a starry eyed youngster and since then ,there has been no looking back.
For me, life is all about a constant pursuit for learning and sharing the knowledge and this organization has provided me this in abundance.
I have seen the organization grow 10 times in revenue, nearly four folds in resources and the various changes in business cycles . Every change has been a welcome challenge and adapting to these changes a new learning. Being resilient has been the key for my sustained career path and growth .I always believe that people are the greatest assets of this company and each one of them comes with different skills and personalities. Knowing the strength of each one of my team members and motivating them to excel on their strength towards achieving the end objective of business excellence has been my motto .I firmly believe whatever success I achieved was because of my teams. TCE is one of the rare companies that is thriving and surviving through more than five decades. I am personally very proud and fulfilled to be associated with TCE for a good part of this fantastic voyage .
The desire to do what's right for each other and for the customer is the values that characterize the people I work with. People here believe that if they do their job, efforts are appreciated and recognised
TCE has given me all the opportunities for growth. I have enjoyed my career with TCE so far. I have experience that TCE's leadership gives utmost importance to human values which is what makes a great place to work.
At campus you are confronted with hard decision to make on choice of employment after graduation.
I am from 1987 batch of trainees and strongly believe that I took the right decision to join TCE rejecting many other offers. Best part of TCE is that it offers excellent work environment, highly supportive seniors, opportunity to be involved in exciting projects-many of them contributing to nation building and lots of opportunities to travel within and outside India and interact with best minds in the industry.
Joined TCE as trainee in 1991 in Worli office. The journey has been excellent, with involvement in variety of profiles. Very interesting work and responsibilities. I am the youngest office head in the company. The mantra is 'grab the opportunity when it comes your way' and one more always 'keep your eyes and ears open'.
I was fostering a dream of joining TATA's, whenever I had passed through Carnac bunder.
I was fostering a dream of joining TATAs', whenever I had passed through Carnac bunder. Having passed out from a prestigious institute, it was dream come true once I joined TCE Carnac office.
My chosen field demanded extensive travelling across regions of our country. During these 26 years of association with TCE, was fortunate enough to manage some of the major projects covering industrial, petrochemical and conventional captive power to co-generation power plants and my association with TCE continues..
