26 September 2008 ,In recognition of the efforts made by TCE, Indian Chemical Council (ICC) awarded the Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Chemical Plant Design and Engineering for the year 2007. TCE brought out innovation in plant design and engineering for the manufacture of distilled fatty acids.

The new plant design is environment-friendly and can result in large savings in energy and water. It is also less capital-intensive as compared to existing distillation plants. The award was presented by His Excellency Shri S C Jamir, Governor of Maharashtra at a special function held in Taj President, Mumbai on 26 September 2008.
